Next stop in the Vega IT global expansion: The UK office

During the last year, we witnessed significant changes in the tech landscape. Many global companies focused more on optimizing the costs, often through layoffs, rather than investing in new projects or entering new markets. At Vega IT, we have a different approach. After opening the New York office, our next stop is London. 

Sasa, how do you see the current state of tech?

Sasa: Companies across the globe are now becoming more aware that technology is not just an additional tool for their business. Most of them can now see that software can either give them a competitive advantage or eliminate them from the race if they are not utilizing technology in the right way. 

How do we continue to grow during times of uncertainty?

For our company, financial stability is the primary focus, both during the good and bad times. Therefore, when we make any decision or investment, we take into consideration that already the next day we might experience another global recession. This approach allows us to be ready to tackle any challenge.

When we are ready to meet the crisis, we have a chance to get out of it without many negative consequences and to make better use of the interesting opportunities we come across during it. This is best seen in our readiness to use even these bad times to further invest in the expansion and further diversification of our business.

We have already worked with clients from the UK for years, why did we decide to open an office in London now? 

Sasa: One core part of our long-term strategy is global expansion, and this includes establishing new offices in several countries worldwide. 

Currently, the UK market is the largest one for Vega IT, and over the last 15 years, we’ve delivered a number of impactful projects there for some of the world’s most innovative businesses. By establishing a physical office, and having an experienced team on the ground, working shoulder to shoulder with our UK clients, we aim to take customer satisfaction to an even higher level and, eventually, expand our client base in this growing market. 

We chose Richard and Nikola to lead our London office for a reason – decades of cross-industry expertise coupled with their entrepreneurial flair and innovative mindset. They are the embodiment of our vision: to co-create the world's best digital products with the most forward-thinking businesses. Their inclusion in our team isn't just strategic; it's imperative to fulfill our brand promise.

Nikola and Richard, welcome to the team! You left Atos and IBM to join Vega IT. Was this a hard decision to make?

Nikola: After two decades of experience in digital transformation consulting, leading global practices and delivery teams, advising clients on strategies, and building brilliant digital experiences and solutions in the world’s leading consultancies and digital service companies, including ThoughtWorks, Accenture, and Atos, I’m thrilled to join Vega IT. 

In my career, I was focused on always going the extra mile and leaving no stone unturned to ensure that clients understand the full spectrum of digital options, realize benefits fast and get a trusted ‘critical friend’ partner.

I believe that all of my experiences led me to this moment – to become a partner at Vega IT and lead the further expansion of the UK market.

I’m also very proud to start this journey with a long-term friend, colleague, and mentor Richard Morris.

For both of us, joining Vega IT from ‘big corporate’ is a breath of fresh air. Teaming up again with my old Atos colleague Nikola whom we worked together on some of the most interesting digital transformation projects, made the decision really quite easy. 

In the upcoming years, how do you see Vega IT in leading digital transformations and providing additional value to UK clients? 

Nikola: I’m looking forward to seeing the impactful results and change Vega IT will deliver to clients, as our approach to adding value is twofold.

Firstly, our end-to-end digital product development capability – from product discovery to software architecture and then on to implementation. We create our clients’ vision together and make it a reality. We bring all the required capabilities and roles, including product owners, business analysts, software architects, all kinds of engineers, data scientists, and quality assurance.

Secondly, our domain expertise and delivery of business outcomes. Over the years, we have developed strong domain expertise in multiple industries such as financial services, insurance, healthcare and life sciences, education, and retail. By understanding the value chains, business models, and existing systems, we are able to add value by being proactive and providing innovative thinking and solutions that can be implemented in their business context to deliver the required outcomes. We are not just another technology services provider but a company that delivers real value to our clients.

What do you expect from the London office? 

Richard: As always, London is expected to be at the epicenter of digital growth and innovation across most sectors, so it was a logical move to establish our physical presence here. We have ambitious plans to grow multifold. The key lever is being closer to our clients, allowing us to anticipate their needs and proactively bring solutions to their business challenges. That is what we will bring and is the goal of the UK office. 

We will bring digital transformation, delivery, and client leadership to Vega IT, and grow the onshore capability to allow Vega IT to be the trusted partner to clients.

Sasa, will Vega IT continue the global expansion this year?   

Now that our offices in New York and London are up and running and we see the benefits of our strategy, we are ready to enter new markets. I’m proud to share that we are currently in the process of establishing offices in the Netherlands and the Middle East. I’m looking forward to sharing more details in the upcoming months.
