    Thrivea is an HR platform designed for growing teams, with Vega IT playing a key role in its development, working closely with the founding team to turn a real operational need into a scalable product.

    Starting from a real operational problem

    The idea for Thrivea came from firsthand experience.

    As Vega IT grew to almost 1,000 employees, the need for a reliable HR system became obvious. What seemed like a straightforward search quickly turned into frustration: most tools were too complex, too rigid, or too expensive for what should be basic functionality.

    Instead of adapting to those limitations, the decision was made to build a solution that better reflects how companies actually operate.

    I’ve worked in large systems where everything was structured, but often overcomplicated – too many tools, too much friction, and still not enough clarity. And now, working with growing teams, I see the opposite problem: not too much system, but none at the moment when it’s needed most. Research shows small businesses spend over 10 hours a week just on HR admin, not because they want to, but because they’re compensating for the lack of a clear structure. Thrivea came from that gap – to give teams a simple system early, so growth doesn’t turn into operational drag.

    From idea to product

    From the start, the focus was clear: build a simple, centralised system that reflects how teams actually work.

    We worked closely with stakeholders to design and develop a platform that brings key HR processes into one place, not as a collection of features, but as a coherent system.

    At its core, Thrivea creates a single source of truth for people-related information, giving teams a clear and structured view of their organisation as it grows.

    Developing a centralised HR system

    The platform is built around a Core HR module that covers the essentials:

    • employee data management
    • directories and organisational charts
    • document storage
    • internal communication and reminders

    This creates a central hub where information is structured, accessible, and easy to maintain, reducing fragmentation and manual work.

    On top of this foundation, additional modules extend functionality, including time off management, performance management, and applicant tracking, with new modules continuously being developed to reflect the evolving needs of growing teams.

    This modular approach allows companies to start with the basics and expand the system as they grow.

    A key product decision was to make Core HR free, keeping essential functionality accessible, while additional modules follow a clear and transparent pricing model.

    Flexible by design

    Although Thrivea is easy to adopt for small and medium-sized companies, it was designed from the start as a highly extensible, enterprise-ready platform.

    This allows growing teams to continue using the same system as their needs evolve, without the need to switch to a new HR solution as complexity increases.

    The platform is configurable enough to support different organisational structures and industries. This is particularly important in more complex environments, where the product needs to adapt to specific operational requirements.

    In practice, this included real-world use in highly regulated industries such as banking, where the platform was tailored to fit existing processes and compliance requirements.

    Co-creating with early users

    Thrivea was developed alongside more than 50 early partner teams, primarily growing businesses that closely match its target users.

    These teams were actively involved throughout the process, using the platform in real scenarios, testing new features, and providing continuous feedback.

    This created a strong feedback loop, where product decisions were shaped not only by initial assumptions, but by real usage and evolving needs. As a result, the platform evolves based on real use, not assumptions, which is critical for a system teams rely on every day.

    We see this challenge in many of our enterprise and scale-up clients: growth is rarely limited by ambition, but by how well operations keep up with it. Thrivea brings structure exactly where it’s needed most, creating a clear, reliable foundation that allows teams to scale without adding unnecessary complexity.
