AI-native SDLC and beyond: Highlights from our latest London roundtable
What does it actually mean to build software the AI-native way, and who's still in the cockpit when the whole SDLC can run on autopilot?
That was the focus of AI-Native SDLC and beyond, a roundtable dinner hosted by Vega IT and Infused Solutions in London on July 9, 2026.
Held at SushiSamba in Covent Garden, the event brought together C-level and senior technology leaders for a candid, informal conversation on how AI is reshaping the software development lifecycle, from architecture and governance to culture and talent.
The discussion was moderated by Nikola Prelevic (Executive Partner, UK, at Vega IT), joined by Stanislav Grujic (Co-CTO at Vega IT) and Costantinos Fassis (CIO at Arch Insurance), who shared their perspectives on architecture, governance and the future of engineering.
Key takeaways from the roundtable
The evening opened with the scene-setting question: what does "AI-native" SDLC really mean, and how mature are organisations on that journey today, from ad hoc use of AI tools to fully autonomous delivery. From there, the conversation moved to where AI is delivering the most impact so far, and how much of a priority AI-native delivery is for the next 6-12 months, both for custom development and vendor platforms.

The conversation also turned to architecture: what it takes to build a mature AI SDLC platform, from clear decisions on when to use AI to the governance and tooling needed to scale it responsibly.
One of the discussion points was what AI means for engineers, from the future of the role to whether documentation still matters, along with the risk and governance needed to use it responsibly.
“What stood out for me is that the hard part isn't the technology. Whatever platform companies build on, and however mature an organisation is, adoption is a people problem. Teams that pair an AI enablement function with champions embedded in the delivery teams onboard faster and are far more likely to succeed and achieve better results.”

What made the evening genuinely useful wasn't polished answers, but leaders willing to say out loud where AI is actually changing how their teams build software, and where the gap between ambition and reality is still wide.
